Ziba Gibson came to Virginia after 1700, possibly from Scotland. His wife was Mary Bennett. Ziba died in Virginia, and his widow and children moved to what was then Anson County, North Carolina ca. 1740. Ziba's descendants have roots along the Pee Dee River Valley (North and South Carolina).
