註釋
Abstract: The balance between food supply and population is a major concern. The gravity of the global situation is increasingly apparent. The future ability of man to feed growing populations is regarded as a problem needing interdependent national and global solution. 21 speeches by world authorities at major FAO occasions during a 20-year period show a change in emphasis, from an attitude of adapting food production to population requirements to realization of an urgent need for simultaneous action on both fronts. Issues of agricultural development, food supply, human values, hunger, demographics, world food supplies, economic growth, population policy, innovations, and political will are addressed.
