註釋
The study ... deals in general with the formation of new mineral phases through structural reorganization when kaolinite-type minerals are heated. A more specific concern, however, is to determine the effect of chemical additives upon the formation of kaolinite high-temperature phase minerals ... In this study a relatively new technique is used for the examination of phase minerals. Kaolinite-type minerals are X-rayed continuously while they are being heated to temperatures of the magnitude of 1450° C ... It was the primary objective of this investigation to determine what effect, if any, the presence of certain ions as impurities in kaolinitic materials have on the formation of high-temperature phase minerals derived from such materials. It will be shown that the introduction of small amounts of certain cations into the physiochemical heating environment of these minerals can either enhance, retard, or prohibit entirely the formation of certain phase minerals ... The data and results ... are also of economic significance. The kaolinite minerals are the basic materials of some of the largest and oldest industries in the world.
