註釋The ageing of the population is a serious trend which is affecting almost all countries in the European Community. One of the effects of this ageing process, already making itself felt and emanding immediate attention, is the effect on the working environment. Researchers, company managers and trade unionists from different European countries were brought together by the French national agency for the improvement of working conditions, ANACT, and by the European Foundation for the Improvement of Living and Working Conditions, to discuss these issues. This publication contains various proposals for reflection and action to combat exclusion and its associated problems. This is a major socioeconomic challenge which can only be met if, alongside national governments, companies are willing to engage in a renewal of the ways in which they approach work and human resource management policies.
