註釋This report presents a study conducted to follow community college students over time to determine students' transfer intentions, steps taken to transfer, and experiences related to the transfer process. The research involved in-depth interviews in June-July & November 1997 with students enrolled at Douglas College, British Columbia and a focus group with another group of Douglas students who were enrolled in an introductory sociology course. The report documents the findings of the conversations with 37 students in total. Issues discussed included reasons for attending Douglas College, the intent to transfer to another institution, choosing courses in college, resources used in relation to the transfer, attitudes toward attending a community college versus attending a university, and student recommendations regarding inter-institutional transfer.
