註釋Much has been written about the Dust Bowl and about the suffering of those who lived through it. This book does not tell the story of the Dust Bowl but rather the generation that followed. It tells the story of those Texas panhandle children who were born in and around Dalhart, or who joined us at the height of the Dust Bowl and later. We are among the generation that survived the endless dust storms, to live and experience a wonderful life in our home town, to graduate from high school, to go on to colleges and jobs, and to have lives that have been beyond the dreams of our parents. These are the very personal stories and memories of the band of friends from the Class of 1954, recalling how we grew up and what we were able to accomplish in our lives.
