An Experimental Investigation of Means to Suppress the Flutter Motion of Elastically Suspended Cylinders Exposed to Uniform Cross Flow
註釋When an elastically supported circular cylinder is brought into steady fluid flow, flutter motions occur when it is subjected to flow velocities which exceed a certain critical velocity. The flow-induced vibrations can be reduced by modifying the surface of the cylinder. This report discusses the effects of 21 surface modifications on the flow-induced vibrations. It is seen that surface modifications can reduce the amplitudes of the flutter motions.
