註釋Jim Beckwourth's father was a Virginia plantation owner and his mother was one of the slaves on the plantation, so Jim was raised as a slave. At about age nine his father freed him from slavery. in his post-teen years he spent years exploring the western wilderness and became one of the best known mountain men as well as a favoirte chief of the crows.
