註釋The Economic and Social Commission for Asia and the Pacific (ESCAP) has awarded the ESCAP Human Resources Development (HRD) Award in almost every year since 1990. The award recognizes exceptional contributions made in the area of human resources development. The theme of the ESCAP HDR Award for 2001 was Empowering the Rural Poor through HRD. This document contains six of the most innovative papers submitted for the award. It is hoped that these unique approaches will inspire and serve as a useful reference for others throughout the region involved in HDR work aimed at eradicating rural poverty and developing sound and sustainable rural communities.
