Massinissa
註釋Massinissa (238-148 BC) had a long and aggressive reign as King of Numidia, Africa; although he fought for Carthage in Spain against Rome during the second Punic war he was finally recognised as king by Scipio Africanus. The first part of Storm's study examines the life and career of this ruthless and highly capable man, as well as the motivations of his many enemies, while the second considers the material and intellectual culture of Numidia, including its political and administrative structures, its military, architecture, religious beliefs, funerary monuments and traditions.
