Results of a Field Study Using the 3-axis Doppler Shift Current Meter
註釋During the spring of 1967 a field study with the 3-axis Doppler shift (acoustic) current meter was carried out in the Patuxent Estuary. The study, extending over a period of 18 days, obtained continuous measurements of 3-dimensional water velocities in fields of naturally occurring turbulence as these fields were convected past the Doppler meter which was mounted on a fixed tower in the estuary. These measurements with the Doppler meter were supplemented with a large amount of auxiliary data concerning the vertical structure of temperature, salinity, and currents in the estuary, continuous wind speed and direction measurements, and in some instances surface wave measurements. This report deals with the results of analyzing part of this set of data. (Author).
