Le origini dell'opera a Milano
註釋This book presents the results of various studies of the early history of opera in Milan. In doing so, it reconstructs the history of entrepreneurial operatic activities in the city from 1601 until the mid seventeenth century. The volume gives full transcription of 85 hitherto unpublished archival documents, as well as passages from rare printed sources, with Italian translations, where necessary. Also included are a chronology of the productions staged in Milan, a list of the plays and librettos printed in Milan, with references to the information on staging and the use of music, architectural reconstructions of the Royal Palace that help identify the places of performance, and finally, over one hundred black-and-white illustrations (engravings, drawings, paintings, etc.) discussed in the study.
