The seven essays carefully analyze the meanings and connections of commitments, worldviews and science. The papers in this volume were presented at a conference held in July 1985 at Calvin College in Grand Rapids, Michigan and are the fruit of a project on social philosophy sponsored jointly by Calvin College, The Free University of Amsterdam, and the Institute for Christian Studies in Toronto. Olthuis; On Worldviews and Philosophy: A Response to Wolters and Olthuis, Jacob Klapwijk; On Christian Learning, Nicholas Wolterstorff; The Approach to Social Theory, Sander Griffioen; Sociology and Progress, Jan Verhoo> Worldview and the Meaning of Work, P.J.D.
