Picturing Hong Kong
註釋"Three essays set the stage for these photographs. The first, A Brief History of Hong Kong to 1910 by Joanna Waley-Cohen, surveys the colony's formative years and documents the political and cultural tensions created by attempts to straddle Eastern and Western traditions. Another essay by Roberta Wue, Picturing Hong Kong: Photography through Practice and Function, looks at the politics of representation as they are played out in images made for foreign viewers and those made for a local Chinese audience.
