Enclosure Records for Historians
註釋This book provides an introduction to this topic, by explaining the processes by which the landscape was enclosed from the 15th century onwards, as well as the motives of some of the enclosers. Practical issues such as early surveying and the construction of enclosure maps are dealt with in detail. Drawing on a wide range of enclosures in England and Wales, copies of many of the documentary records gemerated at the time are reproduced, transcribed where necessary, and their importance explained. The current historiography of the topic is also examined. -- book jacket.
