註釋Memoirs of Rabinovitz, born Guta Cykiert in Warsaw in 1927. Describes life in the Warsaw ghetto, where she was interned with her parents and three siblings, all of whom perished in the Holocaust. Rabinovitz hid in a bunker with one of her brothers during the uprising of April 1943; however, they were discovered and sent to the Poniatowa labor camp and then to the camp at Biała Podlaska. In January 1944 they were sent to Majdanek, and her brother was transferred to Starachowice; he and some others escaped from the camp, but they were killed by Polish partisans. In July 1944 Rabinovitz was sent on a death march to Auschwitz; in December 1944 she was sent to Bergen-Belsen, then to the Aschersleben labor camp and to Theresienstadt, where she was liberated. After the war she emigrated to Eretz Israel.
