Zhou Bros in the Studio
註釋"This photographic essay by Steven D. Gross captures two of the most elusive and fascinating figures in contemporary art: the Zhou Brothers. For the first time an "outsider" has been allowed to observe their "Dream Dialogue," the collaborative effort in their paintings. While still in their twenties and early thirties, the Zhou Brothers were the most celebrated contemporary painters in Mainland China. In 1985 they were given an unprecedented national touring exhibition through the five most important instituions in China, including the National Museum or Art, Beijing, and the art museums in Shanghai and Nanjing. Knowing that this climactic experience would not ensure further artistic development, they decided to relocate to the United States in 1986 and focus their careers on the international level. Since that time they have exhibited actively in the U.S, Western Europe, and Asia, and have achieved acclaim through wide exposure in international art fairs, museums, and galleries."--Back bookflap
