註釋
Gear Engineers like to find answers online if they have a technical question. Those professional experts mainly look for answers to either quite uncommon complex problems, or they haven't faced a certain task yet. Not many solutions to everyday Gear Engineering problems are found in textbooks and are not typically part of the curriculum in Engineering Colleges. This is also the reason why most of the answers to questions which are related to gear design and manufacturing cannot be found online. To fill this void, the book Practical Gear Engineering was published in 2019 as eBook and as a bound hardcover version. This book generated a broad interest, and the hard cover version was quickly out of print. The present book Gear Engineering Solutions is a continuation of "Practical Gear Engineering", like a second volume with new topics which are either based on new developments or on questions I have been asked over the past 6 years. For all the repeatedly asked questions, I collected the answers in a folder. In some cases, I created Power Point presentations and in cases of broader interest I wrote technical papers on specific topics. However, most of the answers to the questions I have been asked were only emails with some hand drawn graphics which were never published. When the volume of the collected explanations was sufficient for a new book, the logical step was to consolidate the mate-rial of answers to related questions and write book chapters with detailed explanations and graphics which visualize the problem solutions. This not only makes the book interesting for a broader audience, but it also presents a library of problem-solving material which is available to all gear engineers. The highlights in the new volume are: ¿Interchangeability of bevel gears ¿Root interference and solutions for avoiding them ¿Undercut phenomenon ¿Independent profile shift for bevel gears ¿Zerol geometry analysis ¿New processes for couplings and clutches ¿Proposal of a spline geometry, insensitive to misalignment ¿Psychoacoustik ¿Shaft position tolerances for bevel gears ¿Vector feed explanation ¿Cutter and blade consolidation
