Crítica de arte en México
註釋Art criticism has a vital role in the creation and discussion of art in Mexico: its importance is not restricted to a merely theoretical reflection, but rather it dialogues with the creative artists of the time, and will have influence even at a political and social. However, according to Daniel Montero Fayad, a researcher at the IIE, there is still no genealogy of 20th century art criticism in Mexico that allows us to historically and discursively locate the range of critical positions that have existed. His book "Art Criticism in Mexico: 1940-1966. Debates and definitions" presents us with an overview of art criticism of the time: its actors and theoretical and political commitments, at the same time that it raises central questions for art as , for example, what is considered art or not, how to understand art criticism, and what is the relationship of art with discourse.
