註釋
This thesis represents a study of software agents, with goals to explore what they are, how they differ from normal objects, what is agent paradigm. It also presents a basic introduction to agents within distributed computing and its methodologies. With the basic concepts of agents a typology of agents is done, in which the main features of each type are given and common agent applications. The document makes an emphasis on agent frameworks, which are candidates for long-expected international standards made by the FIPA [Foundation for Intelligent Physical Agents] that will increase the use of agent-oriented systems in every day's life. Theoretical research is supported later in the practitionary report where an agent based system within JADE agent framework is built. The reader will step trough a set of examples, from the simplest one to complex agents, which interact with framework help. The interaction between agents is done over standardized protocols. Complex agent systems can use advantages of the agent framework, where agents can communicate, migrate, collect information, and execute tasks, among others. Their role in the future, obstacles of creating such a system and the advantages compared with other systems are also part of the document.
