註釋Nikifor (circa 1895-1968) was a Lemko from Krynica. He lived and made his pictures at Krynica, and always returned to Krynica from his numerous voyages. He is one of the most fascinating figures in 20th century European art. He spent his childhood and youth in abject poverty, but by the end of his life was having his work exhibited in prestigious galleries throughout the world. He won international renown and his pictures were presented side by side with the work of Poland's most illustrious contemporary artists such as Jerzy Nowosielski, Tadeusz Brzozowski and Jan Lebenstein
