The Qiang ethnic group is one of China’s oldest ethnic groups. Traditionally, they live in high mountains surrounded by clouds. Hence, they call themselves “people over the clouds”. On May 12, 2008, an earthquake measuring 8.0 on the Richter scale hit Sichuan Province, which left more than 87,000 people dead or missing. The earthquake was the most destructive disaster for the Qiang people and the Qiang culture, because most of them live in the center of the earthquake. After the earthquake, people set out to rescue and protect the Qiang culture. This book is a collection of poems and novels by the Qiang writers, most of which were written after 2008.
