註釋Thomas Tannery was born ca. 1724 and died ca. 1750 in Huntington, Suffolk Co., New York. He possibly married Penelope Foster on 17 Apr. 1744 who was born ca. 1724, and they were possibly the parents of Zophar Tannery who was born ca. 1748 in Huntington, Suffolk Co., New York and who died after 1833 in Pickens Dist., now Anderson Co., South Carolina. Zophar married Mary Minton, daughter of Thomas Minton, Sr. and Hanna or Hester Heaton ca. 1783. She was born 26 May 1767 in Virginia and died after 1860, probably in Wildcat Dist., Cherokee Co., Georgia. Zophar and Mary were the parents of 2 children, Margaret and Levi. Descendants have lived in South Carolina, Virginia, Georgia, Texas, California, and elsewhere in the United States as well as Great Britain.
