註釋Mathew Camfield was baptized 27 Feb. 1604 in St. Andrew's Church, Harlestone, Northamptonshire, England. He came to America and was highly respected member of early American society. He married Sarah Treat before 1643 in New Haven Colony, New Haven, Conn. He was reported as moving to Norwalk, Conn. in 1652. In 1666 he moved with forty other families and established a colony at the site of Newark, New Jersey. Mathew died 19 Mar. 1673 in Newark, Essex County, N.J.
