註釋Account book, also used as a record book, by Revolutionary War soldier and Litchfield South Farms, Connecticut, merchant, educator and justice of the peace. The earlier entries record meetings of a group of men who fought with the Connecticut Line and were granted lands in Vermont in payment. Morris served with the 2nd Connecticut Regiment and he was appointed clerk for the company of men getting the Vermont land. He recorded proceedings of the group and a letter to the Governor of Vermont. Inside one cover is a chart showing the disposition of the American Army in the field for the campaign of 1782 under Generals Heath and Gates. The remainder of the volume is used as an account book to record items he sold but also services he rendered such as judgments, executions, writs, deeds, and other legal documents.
