註釋 The study was conducted to expose human rights violations against the Banwaon evacuees in the RGS evacuation center in Barangay Balit San Luis, Agusan del Sur. It intended to identify what human rights violations were committed against the Lumads and how these affected their community’s lives. In line with this, it was determined that an NGO is indeed helping the Banwaon in terms of assistance of relief operations for the displaced Lumads. The National Commission on Indigenous Peoples was also part of the research as to how they respond to the ethnic communities’ needs.In addition, interviews were conducted. The head of the Religious of the Good Shepherd Tribal Filipino Ministry Sister Mary John Dumaug gave researchers data that would support the study. Oto Chairman Nicasio Preciosio, who is Banwaon himself and works for the RGS Tribal Filipino Ministry served as the researchers’ translator for Peoples for Southern and Eastern Mindanao Norma Mapansa-Gonos was also interviewed regarding the conflict happening in San Luis.
