Diaries, reminiscences, and philosophical writings of a bachelor farmer (later factory worker) from Manitowoc, Wis. The writings are rich in detail about rural life and with Fischer's own observations and sensitive interpretations about how events affected him personally. Also included are a few photographs of Fischer's friends and family and a compilation by Fischer of writings by H.C. Benke and letters about him.
