Recommitting to a Strong National Defense
註釋The President of the United States is Commander in Chief, but Congress is responsible for raising and supporting Armies and for providing and maintaining a Navy, and no treaty may enter into force without the consent of two-thirds of the Senate. It is time for conservatives who believe in peace through strength and the righteousness of our cause to stand up and serve as a check and balance on the Administration's policies. America needs to turn back harmful treaties like START; once again fund weapons research and development not just to meet the threats of today, but to meet those of tomorrow; fight for missile defense; and update its nuclear warheads. Everyone wants peace, but history shows that the blind pursuit of peace at any cost only makes war more likely.
