6374 Charles Holland Cuttings
註釋The handwritten records, which can be dated from ca. 1893, predate the newspaper clippings, many of which have been glued over the handwriting. They appear to be a diary about pastoral activity carried out in areas such as Roma, the grazing capability of land, and prices obtained for cattle. Concern about the spread of brigalow is expressed, and a general description of a property that has a "good deal of sandy country on it". Names mentioned incude William Walter Hood, Arthur Wende, and Angus Macpherson. The author mentions his views on ways to improve the carrying capacity of cattle properties, recommending more ringbarking of trees. The diary appears to be, in part, a record of court proceedings. A number of 'Exhibits' are mentioned, including letters, Commissioner's Reports, and a lessees' estimates.
