註釋The Greers were early settlers of Shelby County, Tennessee and influential members of Memphis society and politics. David Searcy Greer was born in Clark County, Georgia in 1804. His father, James Madison Greer of Bedford County, Virginia settled his family in Robertson County, Tennessee where they lived until about 1811.
