註釋The purpose of this chapter is to present an overview of DACOWITS' impact through a detailed review of the more than 1,000 recommendations made by the Committee. These recommendations have addressed dozens of issues and challenges facing women in the U.S. military, some of which have been resolved over time and others that persist today. To provide context for this analysis, the chapter also includes a brief overview of women's service and a review of the history of the Committee. Chapter 2 presents a history of women's service in the U.S. military. Chapter 3 provides an overview of the history of DACOWITS from 1951 to present day. Chapter 4 describes the research team's methodology for analysis, and presents the results of the analysis of DACOWITS' recommendations over time. Chapter 5 presents the conclusion.
