Communication of the Indian Residential Schools Settlement Agreement The first generalization relates to the confusion surrounding the Indian Residential Schools Settlement Agreement and associated matters such as the Common Experience Payment or the Independent Assessment Process. [...] Other parties to the AIP included the Assembly of First Nations, legal representatives of former residential school students, and representatives of the churches involved in running the schools. [...] The third strategic goal, reinforce safety and security, involves the following strategic interventions: mediate the risks for the most vulnerable and use the media to the best advantage. [...] The AHF's national LSP intervention strategy should be distributed to communities in order to share insights on dealing with LSPs and and the evolving position of communities on the legacy of residential schools and healing. [...] The AHF commissioned the Lump Sum Compensation Payments Research Project (see Appendix A) in pursuit of the following aims: a) to assess the impact that past lump sum payments have had on First Nation, Inuit, and Métis Survivors, and their families and communities; b) to help identify the benefits and costs of such payments; and c) to prepare recommendations on what might be helpful with respect t.
