Though the Signs of Safety intervention model is used by many child protection organisations in Western Australia, the extent of its evidence base is unknown. This report addresses this gap with a review of the available literature and an analysis of the critical components of the Signs of Safety model as practiced by the home-visiting programs of the UnitingCare West agency. The research identifies tensions for staff and administration and the need for good supervision.
