註釋
A differential-thermal-analysis equipment that can be programmed to heat or cool a sample between 10 degrees C/minute and 200 degrees C/ second has been constructed. Quenching rates of 1000 degrees C/second can be achieved. The upper temperature limit is presently 2500 degrees C. The sample size can be varied between 20 and 500 micrograms. This equipment is mounted on the stage of a polarizing microscope, and any visible change in the sample can be observed, while any heat changes that may occur are recorded on a high-speed chart recorder.
