Notes on Internal Medicine from Professor Austin Flint's Lectures and Notes on Obstetrics from Professor Daniel Warren Brickell's Lectures
註釋This notebook contains notes from two different courses at Bellevue Hospital Medical College, Austin Flint's lectures on internal medicine and Daniel Warren Brickell's lectures on obstetrics. The notebook has been started from both sides, with 45 leaves of notes from Flint's classes in one direction, and 62 leaves of notes from Brickell's classes in the other direction (when the notebook is flipped over). The Flint notes begin with diagnosing and treating various types of fevers, including typhoid fever, malarial fever, yellow fever, and others. Also discussed are pneumonia, smallpox, tuberculosis, problems of the lungs and digestive system, and various other topics. The Flint notes are dated from Nov. 25, 1873 to Jan. 28, 1874. The Brickell notes, which are labeled "vol. no. 2," cover topics including labor, complications during labor, interventions during labor, breech delivery, eclampsia, Cesarean section, miscarriage, recovery from childbirth, lactation, and more. The Brickell notes are dated from Nov. 18, 1873 to Jan. 22, 1874.
