註釋Since the 1980s, the issue of political trends has emerged as one of the most important issues in the Iranian political scene. An examination of the political developments in Iran reveals a real dialectic that sometimes leads to clashes, as indicated by these trends. On the one hand, the study examines the characteristics and rules of this phenomenon, and studies its constituents as seen from a political science perspective. On the other hand it also probes whether this particular social phenomenon has consequences, and whether it is possible to predict its future course. Political trends in Iran are analyzed from various perspectives, including the meaning of a trend as a proposition, the definition of trends as a historical stage, the impact of trends on politics, the relation between trends and socio-economic development, the relation between trends and society, and finally the political trends in Iran during the period 1981-1997.
