This study provides a practical example for a more efficient use of primary energy and for establishing potentials of energy saving in industry. For this purpose the Vevce paper mill is studied, which has its own plants for the generation of power and heat, as well as own hydroelectric power stations, and in addition purchases electricity from the public mains. The paper industry in general consumes a large amount of energy. The share of energy costs in the final product is up to 10%. Therefore energy savings and a cheaper energy supply are of particular importance here.
