註釋The introductory sections of this report include an overview of grasses in the Columbia Basin region of south-east British Columbia and of the importance of grasses in the region; a review of structural elements of grasses and the differences among grasses, sedges, and rushes; a picture key to major groups of grasses; and a key to grass genera. The bulk of the report contains descriptions of the major genera of grasses found in the region, arranged alphabetically by genus. For each species, information is provided on overall plant characteristics, leaves & stem, flowerhead & flowers, habitat, geographic distribution, and similar species. Appendices include a list of grasses by bioenvironmental zone, a list of common versus scientific names, a diagnostic checklist to aid in identification, and a glossary.
