Page [1] has caption "Opinions of" in large type with two columns of text beneath, divided by a double rule. The first column is captioned "Francis Wayland" and begins: "I ask the candid attention of my fellow citizens to the following questions" followed by seven numbered paragraphs, arguments against the sale of intoxicating drink. The second column is captioned "William E. Channing" and begins: "We should discourage the sale of ardent spirit." Page [2] is captioned "Order of exercises for a meeting of the Friends of Temperance, at the Church in Charles Street, Sunday evening, March 25, 1838." Text beneath caption is printed in two columns divided by a single rule. Hymn (3) is seven verses, first line: "Dash to the floor that bowl!" Hymn (5) is three verses, tune: "Old Hundred", first line: "Hosannas, Lord, to thee we sing."
