註釋A Guide to Creating Digital Resources From Historical Documents. Available both on-line and in print, this is a reference work for those computerising historical documents. It seeks to recomend good practice and standards that are generic and relevant to a range of data creation situations, from student projects to large scale research. The guide focuses on the creation of tabular data which can be used in databases, spreadsheets or statistics packages. Many of the guidelines are, however, applicable to other more textual methodologies. This volume has been commissioned by the History Data Service which is funded by the UK Higher Education Funding Councils to collect, catalogue, manage, preserve and encourage the re-use of historical data resources. It forms part of a series of Guides to Good Practice being sponsored by the Arts and Humanities Data Service.
