France and the South Pacific

It looks first at the period up to WWII, then examines the recent history and politics of the three French-Pacific territories before analysing the often tense relations between France and the independent South Pacific countries (Vanuatu, New Caledonia and French Polynesia). Includes tables, maps, a bibliography and a detailed index. The author teaches at the Australian National University.
