註釋Memoirs of Heller based on interviews conducted by Kőbányai (32 cassettes, each one 90 minutes long) in the 1990s, condensed into this book by Kőbányai. Pp. 21-47 deal with the Holocaust period. Heller was born in 1929 in Budapest. She describes how she survived during the war - life in the ghetto, narrow escapes, acquisition of forged documents, and finally liberation. Relates Heller's postwar affiliation first to the Zionist, then to the communist movement. Depicts the Jewish intellectual world in socialist Hungary and mentions the revival of antisemitism after 1989.
