A Guide to New Zealand's Marine Reserves
註釋This highly informative guide is written for tourists, outdoors enthusiasts, divers, conservationists, students and scientists - anyone with an interest in New Zealand's rich marine ecology. There are currently over 30 marine reserves, managed by the Department of Conservation, dotted around the coastlines of mainland New Zealand and its island groups. With their strict no-fish policy these protected areas have become a haven for wildlife and provide unique conditions in which to study or simply enjoy the plants and animals. The book contains an introduction to marine protected areas before covering each reserve chapter by chapter, with maps, access details, activities and facilities for visitors, as well as a mine of information on the wildlife that can be encountered at each site. The appendices include a glossary, list of species, further reading and index. Accompanying the text are 32 pages of colour photographs.
