註釋Jesús Fructuoso Contreras, the most acclaimed sculptor of the Porfirian era, is sick. On the verge of losing his right arm to a cancer that is consuming him, he dedicates his efforts to spoiling the lives of those around him and preparing a marble sculpture for exhibition in Europe, knowing it will be one of his best works.
