註釋Kansas territorial days by the wife of a politically active abolitionist, and governor of the "Free-State" of Kansas, Topeka government, which was disallowed by the United States in 1856. The book concerns the events around this Free State government, the battle in Lawrence, and Robinson's ousting and imprisonment. Robinson would later be nominated and win the official Territorial governorship in 1859.
