The project proposes a model for the development of student proficiency descriptors which may be used for other languages and includes information on how the project developed and the processes undertaken. Provides information as to what can be achieved by students by the end of year 12 and can assist teachers to make judgments about students' accomplishments in learning and using Japanese.
