註釋This report describes the process used to apply ranks to wildlife species requiring special protection, conservation, inventory, or research activities in British Columbia, and gives accounts of each of the 152 vertebrate taxa (amphibians, reptiles, and mammals) currently listed at risk. The species lists include subspecies at risk and, in some instances, geographically isolated populations. Information for each species includes global conservation rank, provincial rank, and some discussion about their biology, taxonomy, population size, trends, conservation needs, and risk factors. Three lists are presented: extinct taxa that historically occurred in the province, candidates for endangered or threatened status, and candidates for vulnerable status.
