William Moncrief (ca. 1721/1722-1794) was probably born in Scotland and immigrated to Ireland and then to Salem, New York. He married twice. Descendants lived in New York, Massachusetts, Connecticut, Wyoming, Kansas, Nebraska, Colorado, Virginia, California, Oregon, Wisconsin, Utah, Illinois, New Hampshire and elsewhere.
