This report developed estimates of existing aircraft overflight exposure in National Park Service areas and U.S. Forest Service wildernesses, and developed a sampling plan for field studies derived from the estimates. The estimates are based on analysis of information about aircraft operations over these areas, visitor use information, evaluation of Park Service and Forest Service field personnel, and remoteness of these units.
