Marina has been wandering the vast seas after losing her family to a volcanic quake. When she fails to find a home among her fellow merfolk, she decides to take a risk and live with those she had been forbidden to approach—humans.

Caspian is a humble fisherman looking for companionship on the outskirts of Cerulean Cove. Even though a rejection from his former lover has made him wary of falling in love, he marries Marina to keep her safe from wandering rogues and ruffians.
